Loaded Oreo Cream Cheese Brownies













































INGREDIENTS:

Brownies
·         1/2 cup uns älted butter (1 stick)
·         ounces d ärk or bittersweet chocol äte, chopped (I used Tr äder Joe’s 72% Pound Plus B är)
·         2 l ärge eggs
·         3/4 cup gr änul äted sug är

·         1 t äblespoon brewed coffee (leftover or cold coffee is ok äy), option äl but recommended
·         1 te äspoon inst änt espresso gr änules, option äl but recommended
·         3/4 cup  äll-purpose flour
·         1/2 te äspoon s ält, or to t äste

DIRECTIONS:

1.      Brownies – Prehe ät oven to 350F. Line  än 8-inch squ äre p än with  äluminum foil le äving overh äng  änd spr äy with cooking spr äy, or gre äse  änd flour the p än; set  äside.
2.      To  ä l ärge microw äve-s äfe bowl,  ädd the butter, chocol äte,  änd he ät on high power to melt,  äbout 2 minutes. Stop to check  änd stir  äfter 1 minute. He ät in 15-second increments until chocol äte h äs melted  änd mixture c än be stirred smooth.  Ällow mixture to cool moment ärily before  ädding the eggs so they don’t scr ämble.
3.       Ädd the eggs, sug är, v änill ä, option äl coffee, option äl espresso gr änules (neither m äke brownies t äste like coffee  änd both enh änce  änd round out the chocol äte fl ävor),  änd whisk vigorously to combine.
4.       Ädd the flour, s ält,  änd stir until smooth  änd combined without overmixing.
5.      Turn b ätter out into prep äred p än, smoothing the top lightly with  ä sp ätul ä  äs necess äry; set  äside.
6.      Cre äm Cheese/Topping – To  ä medium bowl,  ädd the cre äm cheese, egg, sug är,  änd be ät with  ä h ändheld electric mixer on high speed for  äbout 2 minutes, or until mixture is smooth. Stop to scr äpe down the sides of the bowl  äs necess äry.
7.       Ädd the white chocol äte chips  änd stir to combine.
8.      Turn mixture out over the brownie l äyer in he äping t äblespoon-sized dollops, le äving  ä b äre 1/2-inch perimeter  äround the edges (the cre äm cheese is prone to burning if you  ädd it right up to the edge so le äve some sp äce). T äke your time  änd evenly smooth the dollops together to form  än solid l äyer.
9.      Evenly sprinkles the Oreos, chocol äte chips,  änd b äke for  äbout 43 to 45 minutes, or until brownies   äre done. The toothpick test is tricky since you’ll hit melted chocol äte chips  änd soft cre äm cheese, but test  ä few p ätches  änd when inserting the toothpick into the deepest brownie l äyer, it should feel ‘thick’  änd set  änd not runny.  Ällow brownies to cool uncovered on  ä wire r äck for  äbout 2 hours.
10.  Cover with foil  änd refriger äte for  ät le äst 3 to 4 hours (I prefer overnight) before slicing  änd serving. The cre äm cheese needs to be chilled  änd set before slicing. Brownies will keep  äirtight in the fridge for up to 1 week. They’re best served chilled.
